Die Hards

30. September 2015 Style 3

Now that the sun is shining I’m tempted to start shopping again but I know it’s too soon (i.e. it’s the beginning of the season so you’re going to be paying double/triple for that cute top). So I’m holding onto my coins! If you’re like me it means time to start pulling out your ‘die-hards’ and re-inventing them. Last weekend I decided to go into my own archives to see what I could wear to a picnic in the park with a group of friends. I love this dress for three reasons…yes you guessed it. It’s fitted, cute and it was very cheap, (it’s also black therefore slimming, which is crucial for that winter weight gain). So would you believe me if I told you I bought this dress about six years ago from Valley Girl? Hold on, which part is shocking you? The six years or the Valley Girl part? Those days Valley Girl was a God-sent for us especially on that never-ending uni budget. I haven’t been into Valley Girl for some years so I’m not sure if much has changed, but it goes to show that cheap doesn’t always necessarily equate to poor quality. This die-hard has seen me through many summers as well as mild springs like this one. It’s body hugging without being too much, you can dress it up with some heels and accessories or dress it down with a pair a chucks, a fedora, bangs and some lippy. 🙂

Hi. It is great to see you slip into the same dress 6 years later. Fashion really suits you. No matter what you put on you are on point. Love the simplicity and fit in the dress. The ring, hat and shoes give character to the dress. The setting particularly the sidewalk with the flowering trees i.e. white flowers contrasting the dress completes the picture. Style ‘innovative & creative’ stand true. Bapa.
