Winter Is Coming…

14. April 2015 Style 4

The Message: “Winter is not the cancellation of autumn, it is always the preparation for spring”.

It’s taking me a while to accept that summer is pretty much over in Melbourne, I specify Melbourne because we’re probably the only city in Australia that is already experiencing nine degree weather so early in the year (those in the northern hemisphere, yes that is really cold for us). The good news is that it’s not yet June so we’re technically in autumn and we’re getting a little bit of sunshine during the day. So how do you transition from summer to autumn? For me it’s about bringing all those autumn colours to life. I’ve been abusing my burgundy lip colour, the contrast against my skin gives me that natural glow but it’s also gives me that grown woman swag otherwise known as that sophisticated swag. I wore this turtle neck knit dress that i got from glassons to a friend’s birthday drinks with some black strappy heels. Simple, sexy but chic. Less is more remember. I love everything about this dress, the wool feels so comfortable against your skin it’s like going out in your favourite jumper. The depth of the colour just reminds you of those autumn leaves and the length of the dress is a throwback and I’m glad it’s coming back ( lol I’m sure my mom is too). It’s that whole “I’m fully covered but I’ll let the curves speak for themselves” …my kind of dress. I also wore this dress to Church last week, to tone it down, I paired it with a midi length cardi. Very on trend this winter. I hate to be a slave to trend, so if you’re not like me and you can wait, I think they’ll go down in price next month. I chose a camel colour simply because I can wear so much more with it. I also can’t believe the boots are already out, but I’m not complaining, i’ll take any excuse to wear my favourite Steve Madden boots. I know what you’re thinking, how are you walking in those?? They’re very high but surprisingly not that uncomfortable, as my dad always says “where there is a will there is a way”.

My interpretation: This is your season. You are the right person, at the right time in the right place. It’s time to accept this season you are in and everything it brings, he will never give you what you can’t handle. So take hold…or in my words…get it girl.

I’m not a winter woman so I always have to remind myself that every year winter makes me appreciate summer a little bit more, and that’s ok. This is by far my fav look on you. It says “don’t let this stylish look fool you, I’m not afraid to get my hands stuck into some hard work” It’s definitely the hat that’s giving it that stylish but fierce vibe. Get it girl!

Yes! Winter is upon us. I love the look as always. Interestingly you did not mention the hat. Does wonders to those beautiful eyes. Love the earth color combo. The photographer might be forced to change professions. He is on a roll. Great team. Well done. Bapa.

Haha I resisted mentioning the hat. I do love a hat. I’m thinking of getting another black one to kinda finish off my collection. Thanks again for the positive reinforcement !! I will let the photographer know!!
